Worker bees only live aproximately six weeks during the summer season. Queen bees can survive up to five years laying up to two thousand eggs a day.
On this continent, Varroa and Treacheal mites have wiped out all wild honeybees.
Bees are critical to farmers and can increase fruit yields as much as thirty percent. Honeybees didn't exist in North America before the Jamestown settlment. My hive is doing very well this year.
